Philosophy

From the moment we meet, I promise to welcome you: to hold a space of non-judgment; a place where you are respected and where your perspective is privileged. A space of openness, where your individuality is prioritized. A place to do transformational work.

Come as you are, and we will start from there.

Sometimes feelings and situations knock us down, or they keep coming up when we think we've buried them deep. The negative effects can come up as problems in our relationships, our jobs, and our ability to cope. Life sometimes can leave us exhausted.

There are many tools that offer flexibility in a treatment approach that matches your goals. I believe the body has a lot to tell us, and that allowing awareness to unfold in a space that supports living our best life both with our self and others is vital.

I believe in you, your story, and your goals, and I am continually reminded of the bit of amazing in everyone.

Education

I have worked in clinical, institutional, and private practice, in Ontario and abroad. I am a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario #004876, and a clinical member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists. I have an Honors B.A. in international relations and an M.A. in counselling psychology. I am an EMDR trained therapist, level 1 trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (affect regulation), and completed the Traumatic Stress Study Certificate from the Trauma Research Foundation. My approach is informed by IFS, Ego State Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I am a certified 200 hour yoga instructor, and a trained chef.

My clients have been my best teachers, and so they leave their wisdom and successes as a continuing story that we are all in this together.

In my spare time, I try to learn languages :) and volunteer within the community. I love to bike and hike.

My dog follows me everywhere.
